ROWLESBURG — The Motown Strutters will show everyone you are never too old to dance at the 14th annual River City Festival in Rowlesburg this weekend.
The Motown Strutters will be performing at the Szilagyi Center, formerly the Rowlesburg School, on Friday at 7 p.m. The Senior Tap Dance Ensemble will perform for one hour. Admission is free.
The senior citizens will amaze everyone with their talents and energy as they perform their dance routines and amazing, swift costume changes.
In keeping with the Memorial Day weekend, the group will perform numerous military numbers such as “Yankee Doodle,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” and many other show songs.
The ladies began tap dancing at an early age and their love of dance has continued through the years. They perform at senior centers, benefits and other social whenever people want to be entertained.
The ladies in the Motown Strutters are from Morgantown, Kingwood, and Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania. The choreographer is Debbie West. Dancers are Carrie Fox, Kathy Lopez, Karen Zucarri, Cindy Walsh, Kim Reveal, Susan Peskow, Jill Bowermaster, Cindy Taylor and Darinda Westbrook.
