BRUCETON MILLS — Lorena Joy Sypolt, 90, of Bruceton Mills (Brandonville Community) passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Kingwood, with her family by her side.
A daughter of the late Cloyd Monte and Martha Viola Graham Sypolt, she was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Cumberland.
Lorena was a member of the Cuzzart United Methodist Church in her earlier years and a graduate of Kingwood High School. She worked at the H-P Store in Kingwood, WV, and later as a CNA at Hopemont Hospital in Terra Alta, for many years. She loved quilting and was a member of the Cuzzart Helping Hands Quilting Club. Being outdoors, working in her garden and flower beds, and spending hours every day watching the birds were special for Lorena. For those who truly knew her, they knew what a kind, lovely, selfless and generous person she was. She had an unselfish love for her family and, hopefully, the good Lord will keep her on that pedestal. God bless her soul and keep her forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her four children, Cathy and Dennis Reckart, Becky and Ronnie Robinson, Gregg Sypolt, and David and Kathy Sypolt; and three grandchildren, Lisa Vincent and spouse John, Vanessa Lincoln and spouse Mark and Jacob Sypolt and companion Megan Myers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Joseph (Bill) Sypolt on Jan. 30, 2017; her nine siblings, Paul Graham, Bruce Graham, Charles (Bud) Graham, James Graham, Howard Graham, Max Graham, Letitia (Sis) Teets, Jane Smith and Marvel Krygielka; and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt “thank-you” to Alysia Funk, APRN, FNP-BC, Carla Dixon, LPN, and Amedisys Hospice (especially, Robin, Amy, Camille, Sara, Char, Crystal and Paula) for the wonderful care and compassion that they provided for our mother over the past several years. It is greatly appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Bruceton Community Ambulance Service, 110 Union St., Bruceton Mills, WV 26525 or the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department, 142 Union Street, Bruceton Mills, WV 26525.
