KINGWOOD — James “Jim” Gordon Crandall, 79, of Kingwood passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Stonerise of Kingwood.
He was born Nov. 9, 1943 in Lorain, Ohio, son of the late Charles L. and Bernadine Donnelly Crandall.
Jim served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He graduated from Kent State with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. He was a teacher of Industrial Arts in various school districts. He was a member of Kingwood Baptist Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janet Louise Carpenter Crandall; daughter, Robin Thomas and Terry, Kingwood; grandchildren, Brandon Thomas and Melissa, Smithsburg, Md., Arielle Mabie and Logan, Bruceton Mills; brother, Keith Crandall, Florida; sisters, Susan Frederick, Cadillac, Mich.; Sharon Crandall, Mansfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends may call at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, on Saturday May 20, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Charles Warger officiating.
Interment will follow at the Centenary Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by the honor details of VFWs and Vietnam Veterans of Preston County and the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
