MASON, W.Va. (WV News) – Ravenswood’s baseball team was in the driver’s seat of the Class A Region IV, Section 2 Tournament.
The Devils needed just one win against Wahama in order to advance into next week’s Region IV best-of-three event.

The Devils needed just one win against Wahama in order to advance into next week’s Region IV best-of-three event.
The White Falcons, though, took over at the wheel and produced back-to-back 6-1 victories in cruising to the sectional crown and motoring on in postseason play.
Ravenswood had beaten the White Falcons earlier in the double-elimination tournament, 9-3.
The two losses ended Ravenswood’s fine season at 21-12.
Wahama 6, Ravenswood 1
Facing elimination, the White Falcons stayed alive with the victory at home on Monday evening.
After four scoreless innings, Ravenswood struck for a run in the top of the fifth to take the lead.
The White Falcons left no doubt there would be a second game to decide the sectional by exploding for all six of their runs in the bottom of the inning.
Wahama outhit Ravenswood, 5-3, in the game.
Ravenswood suffered two errors to none for the White Falcons.
Brady Swain, Nick Milhoan and Garrett Ray had Ravenswood’s hits.
Milhoan’s was a double.
Evan Swain pitched four and two-thirds for Ravenswood. He gave up two hits and three earned runs. Swain had an impressive 10 strike outs while walking five.
Logan Alfred was on the mound for an inning and a third. He allowed three hits and three runs. Alfred had one strike out and three walks.
Wahama 6, Ravenswood 1
The Devils and White Falcons didn’t waste any time getting on the board in the winner-take-all contest Wednesday evening.
Ravenswod plated a run in the top of the first and the White Falcons answered in the bottom of the inning.
Unfortunately for Ravenswood, that run would be its last.
Wahama took the lead with a run in the last of the third and added four more in the fourth.
The White Falcons had six hits while limiting Ravenswood to just two.
Wahama enjoyed another error-free game while Ravenswood had to deal with five in the loss.
Beau Bennett and Garrett Ray had Ravenswood’s lone hits.
Anthony Anglin had the RBI.
Bennett worked four innings in the game. He gave up six hits and six runs. The junior struck out six while walking three.
Brady Swain pitched two innings, striking out four and walking two.
