The NC State men's basketball team saw its season come to a close at the hands of Colorado State in the NIT. The Pack was unable to stop a strong second-half shooting performance by the Rams.

After missing out on the NCAA Tournament, the NC State men’s basketball team is set to participate in the NIT, playing Davidson first. Davidson is led in scoring by Kellan Grady.

The unknowns dominated all of college basketball and many questioned if it was doomed to repeat the 2019-20 ending, having no tournaments or play at all, but nonetheless, the teams, players and conferences persevered. 

Syracuse’s Buddy Boeheim torched the Wolfpack, scoring 27 points while shooting 6 of 12 from deep. That performance headlined an unbelievable afternoon of shooting for the Orange, as the team finished shooting 48.3% from deep.

The NC State men’s basketball team will host the Pittsburgh Panthers on Sunday inside PNC Arena looking to complete the season sweep.

This win marks NC State’s third straight overall and fourth straight ACC road win, a feat that hasn’t been accomplished since 1974, with the Pack’s national championship team.

On the plus side, the Pack is managing to catch Virginia during a rare rough patch that has resulted in two straight losses for the Cavaliers.

Currently sitting 6-8 in ACC play, talk of an NCAA Tournament selection no longer exists, and as the Wolfpack stands right now, it has most likely punched its ticket to the NIT, predicted as a sixth seed for the National Invitation Tournament.

Since the injury to Devon Daniels, NC State men's basketball has been unable to find consistently good play from its guards. Assistant Sports Editor Tristan Tucker and Correspondent Wade Bowman debate on who should get the opportunity to lead the team. 

Last time Duke traveled to PNC Arena, the Pack blew out the Blue Devils in a 88-66 rout. The complete opposite was true today, as Duke took control of the game midway through the first half and never let up.
