Around 8:30 p.m. in east Raleigh on Saturday night, a shooting broke out between a 30-year-old man and police, resulting in the death of the man.
The shooting occurred in a shopping center between Raleigh and Knightdale, on N. Rogers Lane and near New Bern Avenue, according to WRAL.
Raleigh police identified the man as Soheil Antonio Mojarrad, but have not published any information regarding the cause of the event. Mojarrad died on the scene.
WRAL also reported that while W.B. Edwards, the officer that shot Mojarrad, was wearing a body camera, it was not activated at the time.
